Whiskers in a Beard is a metaphor for some sort of attainable but not definite goal; right now mine is photography. At what point can I consider myself a photographer? Or a professional photographer? It’s not a black and white answer. There’s not a certain course or number of practice shoots that will certify me as a professional. In the same way, a young man growing facial hair cannot say that when his 1000th whisker appears on his chin that he’ll finally have a beard; but not a whisker sooner. There’s a lot of learning to be had… I am still very much a beginner. And when it’s all said and done, when I’ve grown my “beard”, I’d love to see destination wedding photography a large part of what I do.
Seems lofty and unrealistic you say?
I know.
